Green hydrogen has the potential to replace fossil fuels in sectors where direct electrification is not feasible. Portugal, with its abundant renewable energy resources, is strategically positioned to lead in green hydrogen production. However, the number of projects in implementation remains limited.
Key challenges include regulatory and legislative barriers, as well as issues related to resource accessibility and financing. Addressing these obstacles is critical to realizing the goals of the National Hydrogen Strategy and fostering the sector’s growth.
The “Green Hydrogen: Barriers to Overcome” seminar, organised by INEGI, explores these pressing topics, offering valuable insights into the pathways needed to support Portugal’s leadership in green hydrogen development.
The seminar will take place on November 29 in Porto. Smartenergy is Partner of the event.
