Energy storage is becoming an increasingly important part of an integrated and resilient energy system, helping to balance renewable generation and demand while supporting greater flexibility across electricity markets.
In this context, the Energy Storage Summit Europe 2026 will bring together developers, investors, utilities, lenders and other industry stakeholders to discuss the latest developments and opportunities shaping the European energy storage market.
This year’s agenda will address key topics including the financing and bankability of battery energy storage systems, revenue models and offtake strategies, grid integration and the development of storage markets across Europe. Discussions will also explore the increasing need for flexibility as renewable generation and electricity demand continue to grow, including the impact of data centres on Europe’s energy infrastructure.
The Energy Storage Summit Europe 2026 will take place on 29–30 October in Munich, and Smartenergy will participate as a Guest Speaker at the event.
