Smartenergy will connect its biggest solar PV plant in Portugal by the end of 2022

Construction works on the Pessegueiro facility continue on schedule, confirming that this 63.5 MWp solar plant with almost 120,000 modules will be ready for grid connection by the end of the year.

In February, Smartenergy started constructing the Pessegueiro project, a solar PV plant located in Pinhal Novo, Palmela. By the end of the year, when connected to the grid, the installation will be the company’s biggest plant in Portugal up to date.

The facility will produce enough electricity to supply 26,000 households according to the country’s average domestic consumption statistics while avoiding almost 35,000 tons of annual CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

The Pessegueiro project will be one of the largest solar installations in Portugal built to date. Please, click on the picture above to see a video of the construction work from mid-February to the end of June.
